The streets of Turin are set to rumble with the release of VIPERthe latest album from the notorious Italian garage punk quartet, SLOKS. Scheduled for an early 2025 launch via Goodbye Boozy Records, this album promises to be a thunderous jolt of rock 'n' roll with an unapologetic, gritty edge.

Formed in 2015, SLOKS has been carving a niche in the punk scene with their raw, primal sound. Their journey kicked off with a 7" vinyl single in 2017 under the banners of SOB Records, Double Face Records, and Resurrection Records, establishing them as purveyors of no-nonsense punk. Their 2018 album, Holy Motor on Voodoo Rhythm Records, was a breakthrough, capturing the hearts of underground music aficionados.

The addition of drummer Tony Machete in time for their 2021 release, A Knife in Your Hand, marked a turning point. His savage rhythms pushed SLOKS into a new era of ferocity, which was reflected in their inclusion on the compilations You Didn’t Think We Could Take It! Vol 2 by Mandinga Records and Bomb Your Brain Vol 2 by Pigmè Records.

2023 brought a significant evolution with the band welcoming vocalist Rudy “Red” Valentine of Barsexuals and Los Mofongos fame, whose voice adds a layer of explosive dynamism. The lineup was further electrified by guitarist Massimo Scocca, previously of Lame and Two Bo’s Maniacs, creating a dual guitar assault that amplifies their already potent sound. This formidable foursome - Tony Machete on drums, Buddy Fuzz and Massimo Scocca on guitars, and Rudy “Red” Valentine on vocals - hit the studio in Toulouse, France at Swampland Studio, where they laid down 13 tracks under the guidance of producer Lo Spider, known for his work with Blew-Up!, Destination Lonely, and Dividers.

VIPER is poised to be a landmark release, showcasing SLOKS' unwavering commitment to the raw and the real in rock n roll. Fans can expect a relentless barrage of sound that pushes the boundaries of what lo-fi  garage punk can be.
